I own a priceless treasure, 'tis precious to my heart,
In time of joy or sorrow, a message 'twill impart:
A glory gilds its pages, and shines upon the way
The dear old Book grows sweeter day by day!

It tells me of a Savior whose love is all divine,
The gift of free salvation, and joys which may be mine;
And all His words of promise, which cheer me on the way,

Its words of holy counsel are like a guiding light,
To turn my feet from evil and point me to the right;
'Twill bless me on my journey along the upward way,
